Empowering Growth and Healing Through Trauma-Based Coaching and Business Consulting

Let's Work Together!

Why Trauma-Based Coaching?

Signing up for trauma-informed coaching might seem overwhelming at first. It involves exploring negative habits from painful past experiences and requires time and effort. Many people wonder why they should address trauma at all. The truth is that trauma is a common part of life, and if left unaddressed, it can leave individuals feeling stuck. Despite the challenges, trauma-based coaching provides a path to healing and growth, helping individuals unlock their potential and live more fulfilling, resilient lives.

After completing coaching, individuals often experience significant personal and professional changes. They gain self-understanding and recognize triggers and patterns that influence their behavior. This awareness leads to better emotional regulation and healthier relationships through setting boundaries and effective communication. Confidence and self-esteem improve, empowering individuals to tackle challenges and pursue their goals. They develop healthier coping mechanisms, experience reduced anxiety and depression, and see improvements in focus, productivity, and career advancement.

Teams communicate better and form stronger relationships. This approach also fosters innovation, creativity, and effective conflict resolution. FAQ

What is Trauma?

Most people have experienced some form of trauma in their past, whether it’s a significant life event or a series of smaller, impactful moments. Trauma can stem from various sources such as childhood experiences, relationship challenges, work-related stress, or major life changes. These experiences shape who we are and how we interact with the world.

Understanding that trauma is a common part of the human experience is essential. It allows us to approach ourselves and others with greater compassion and empathy. Trauma-informed coaching recognizes this universality and provides a safe, non-judgmental space for individuals to explore and process their experiences. By addressing and working through these past traumas, people can heal, build resilience, and move forward to create fulfilling and balanced lives without feeling stuck.

How does Unresolved Trauma Affect a Person?

Motivation:

  • Trauma can reduce motivation by causing constant stress, leading to fatigue and a lack of interest in activities that were once enjoyable.
  • People may struggle to set and achieve goals as their brain focuses more on survival than on thriving.

Emotion:

  • Trauma often triggers strong emotions like fear, anger, and sadness, which can be overwhelming and hard to manage.
  • Changes in the brain make it difficult to control these feelings, leading to mood swings and emotional outbursts.

Trauma keeps the brain in a constant state of stress, affecting memory, decision-making, and emotional control. This reduces motivation and makes managing emotions more challenging. Each person’s experience of trauma is unique and influenced by the type of trauma and their circumstances.

Additional Effects of Trauma

Emotional Barriers:

  • Unaddressed trauma can lead to emotional burdens such as fear of failure, anxiety, and lack of self-worth, impeding professional growth.

Lack of Confidence:

  • Trauma can severely impact self-esteem and confidence, making it hard to take on leadership roles, speak up in meetings, or advocate for oneself.

Difficulty with Relationships:

  • Trust issues, communication difficulties, and fear of judgment can hinder collaboration, networking, and mentorship opportunities.

Avoidance and Procrastination:

  • Trauma survivors might avoid tasks or responsibilities that remind them of their trauma, leading to procrastination and decreased productivity.

Overwhelm and Burnout:

  • Constant hypervigilance and emotional exhaustion associated with trauma can lead to burnout, making it hard to maintain a steady workflow or achieve work-life balance.
What is the Difference Between Coaching and Therapy?

We differentiate between coaching and therapy to provide our clients with the most appropriate and effective support. Our coaching services are future-oriented, helping individuals set and achieve specific personal or professional goals. Meanwhile, therapy often focuses on past and present. We work with clients to identify their strengths, develop actionable plans, and overcome challenges. Our coaching process is structured and goal-driven, using tools like goal-setting and motivational techniques. It’s important to note that while pursuing a PhD in psychology, I am not a licensed mental health professional. If you need immediate assistance, please contact a licensed professional or your local mental health services

Often, a client will go to therapy prior to coaching to explore and develop future goals and plans. We focus on empowering our clients through coaching to achieve their goals and enhance their personal and professional lives.

What Theoretical Framework do you practice ?

We use the Transtheoretical Model of Behavior Change (TTM). The TTM helps us identify where you are in your change process—whether you’re just starting to think about change or you’re actively working on it. This allows us to meet you exactly where you are and offer the right kind of support and strategies. For example, if you’re in the contemplation stage, we can help you weigh the pros and cons of changing and build your motivation. If you’re in the action stage, we’ll focus on practical steps and overcoming obstacles.

Using TTM ensures that our approach is not one-size-fits-all. Instead, it’s sensitive to your past experiences and current needs. This trauma-aware perspective creates a safe and supportive environment, making it easier for you to navigate the challenges of change.
